Helping Communities Grow

DKSH employees helped build houses at a Gawad Kalinga village in the Philippines.

"Gawad Kalinga” means "to care”

At the gala celebrations to mark our 140th anniversary in Japan last year, Nihon SiberHegner graciously received several generous donations to be directed to one of DKSH's charity-projects. We decided to channel the funds to Gawad Kalinga, a non-governmental community development project in the Philippines with a vision of transforming slums into communities.

Forming a human chain to pass concrete blocks.

Thanks to the gracious contributions of our partners in Japan, DKSH was able to finance the construction of four houses in Gawad Kalinga villages on the outskirts of Lipa City in Batangas Province, and to supply tools and plants for landscaping. Ever passionate about the local communities in which we operate, many of our employees arrived at the site to help personally to build the new homes.
